Barry Scott’s Tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr.

The City of Miramar in honor of the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is offering free tickets to the live performance by actor/producer Barry Scott ?A Tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr.? on Friday, January 16 at 8 p.m. at the Miramar Cultural Center.

Scott?s powerful one-hour tribute to the great Civil Rights Leader has been called ?phenomenal, amazing and absolutely perfect.? Scott personifies Dr. King and recreates some of his most inspiring speeches. A Q&A session follows.

There will also be a performance by Jubilee Dance Theatre, featuring excerpts from Canvases to Life, a collaboration of work inspired by visual artist Jonathan Green, highlighting poetry by Ray Dominques of the Writes Side Poets and a dedication to Coretta Scott King, Michelle Obama and all women?s journeys. Vouchers can be downloaded from the Web site or picked up at the Miramar Cultural Center, Miramar City Hall, Miramar Multi Purpose Center, the African American Research Library, Urban League of Broward County and other locations throughout Miramar. Seating is limited. First come, first served.

Redeem vouchers at the Miramar Cultural Center Box Office Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the day of the performance.

Scott, an actor, writer, producer, director, motivational speaker and voice-over artist, has performed this amazing tribute for presidents and currently tours the country with his show.
