KidFlix Festival

April 11th, 2010  |  by  |  Published in Events

KidFlix Festival presents a rich, multi-cultural experience for kids in our community with the screening of exclusive international films, animated features, documentaries and shorts on Sunday, April 11 at the Cosford Cinema at UM. There are films for every age group starting with Kid Flix Mix, a collection of the best-animated short films from around the world, 3 + years, that includes the quirky tale, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, told from the wolf?s perspective. Inside Hana?s Suitcase is a unique documentary/drama for families, and is narrated by Japanese, Czechoslovakian and Canadian children with a message of tolerance and hope. For the child in all is the magical film The Secret of Kells, nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 2010 Academy Awards, where fantasy and Celtic mythology come together to show how the power of imagination and faith can carry humanity through dark times.

Between screenings is the KidFlix Activity Center with age-appropriate, hands-on projects presented by the Miami Children?s Museum and the historic Deering Estate.

KidFlix Festival is hosted by the UM School of Communications, and all films are at the Bill Cosford Cinema, 5100 Brunson Dr, Off Campo Sano, Coral Gables, on Sunday, April 11; beginning at 9:30 am until 6pm.
