Imagine a scenario with me. Your family is vacationing (or stay-vacationing) in Miami Beach and has just come out of the movie theater, hungry and ready to eat. Miami Fun Guide to the rescue! Eat Greek Souvlaki, no more than a block or two away from the Lincoln Center (South Beach Regal Stadium 18), is a family-friendly joint that serves authentic and succulent Greek dishes. It is located at 1570 Alton Rd, Miami Beach, FL, 33139. Opened in 2013, Eat Greek is newly established, but the word is traveling quickly!

Their menu includes a classic lamb gyro, served with either fries or lettuce inside and seasoned with a tasty Tzatziki sauce. The lamb is cooked to perfection and is complemented by fresh tomatoes in the wrap. Another favorite dish of mine is the Greek salad, a healthy alternative meal. This salad is authentic to Greek culture, and has no lettuce or roughage. It consists of creamy Feta cheese, crisp green peppers and kalamata olives, and refreshing cucumbers. If you?re looking for a snack, a delicious appetizer is the pita platter, with hummus, tzatziki sauce, and creamy baba ganoush.

The wait staff are friendly, the bathrooms are clean, and the wait time is not bad. My family has visited this lovely restaurant several times since it opened, and every time we have been satisfied and pleasantly surprised to discover additional treasures in the menu. This is an old-school, family business with old-fashion freshness. A place where the owners invite you to sit, relax and enjoy. The only thing I’d change are the pits in the kalamata olives, but, then again, they might just help you slow down and savor every bit of the good food and fun times.
