#MBFGW2 and My Little Greek Deli

Recently my teenage daughters and I joined one of my dearest friends from college on a chick-flick outing to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. Though somewhat cute (for a young adult audience), like most sequels, the second movie wasn’t nearly as good as the first one.

They couldn’t improve on the original, and sometimes the same can be said for Greek food. There’s nothing like old-school Greek food. No frills or sexy teasers needed. Just savory, home cooked servings. We found just the place for you!

Owned and operated by Apostolos Meletis and his family, My Little Greek Deli is a tiny restaurant snuggled between other small shops just off Curtis Parkway in Miami Springs. I stumbled across it while looking for the post office nearby. I’ve passed that area in my car multiple times and never noticed it. But what a find it is!

The hummus, like other menu items, was fresh, made from scratch, and presented in an appetizing manner.  They have the BEST spanakopita Rick and I have ever eaten. The lambchops were tender and perfectly cooked. The desserts rival any upscale bakery. Great Greek things do come in small packages. And reasonable prices too.

Check out this authentic Greek-American eatery at 195 Westward Drive in Miami Springs. Say hello to Apostolos, his wife Betty, and his son Christos. God made food to be the means of joy and celebration with others. Opa!
