Spring Break Safety

Many young people flock to the Miami area during Spring Break. Miami Beach is the most popular destination during this annual event.

If you are visiting Miami Beach for Spring Break you should be prepared in advance with some safety tips. Here is a short list. More information can be found on the City of Miami Beach website: Visitor Safety page.

  • Stay in groups if possible.
  • One member of the group should refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages, and be able to help others in case it is needed.
  • Do not trust strangers or go out for the evening with someone you just met.
  • Never leave your drink (water bottle, glass, alcohol, or any other drink) unattended. It is very common for women and men to have drugs put in their drinks and later become victims of sexual assault.
  • Use a taxi or public transportation to move within our city.
  • Do not accept a ride from a stranger, particularly if you are under the influence of alcohol.
  • Young ladies should refrain from carrying purses and carry only an identification and sufficient money to pay for a taxi to take them back to their hotel.
  • Tell someone where you are going at all times.

Don't forget to tell them you saw it on Miami Fun Guide!
